Getting Around

Homes, teleports and random drops, and the five seconds you have to stand still.

The world is big and most of the teleporting is free. The two exceptions are /rtp and /back, which cost a few Crowns each. Everything costs a few seconds of standing still, which matters more than you'd think the first time somebody's chasing you.

The five-second rule

Almost every teleport here has a five-second warmup. During it:

  • Moving cancels it. Turning your head is fine. Taking a step isn't.
  • Taking damage cancels it. A skeleton that clips you at four seconds has cost you the whole teleport.

That applies to homes, warps, spawn, town spawns and accepted /tpa requests. It's the reason you can't teleport out of a fight, which is the point.

Homes

/sethome <name> marks where you're standing. You get seven, and they don't cost anything.

  • /home teleports you to one, or opens a menu of them.
  • /homes lists what you've got.
  • /edithome renames a home, moves it to where you're standing, gives it a description, or makes it public so other players can visit.

There's a one-minute cooldown between home teleports.

Teleporting to people

  • /tpa <player> asks to go to them.
  • /tpahere <player> asks them to come to you.
  • /tpaccept and /tpdeny answer.

Requests expire after 60 seconds. If someone's spamming you, /tpatoggle and /tpaheretoggle turn off incoming requests of each kind.

Being at war with someone's territory blocks /tp, /tphere, /tpa and /tpahere aimed at them. So does an embargo.

During an active attack, nearly every teleport is blocked outright: /home, /spawn, /warp, /rtp, /back, /tpaccept, /tan spawn and more. See War & Forts for the full list.

Going somewhere random

/rtp opens a menu with the Overworld and the Nether.

You land between 500 and 25,000 blocks from the centre of the world. It has a five-minute cooldown.

This is the normal way to find somewhere to settle. Take a look around before you commit, because it's much easier to pick a spot before you've built everything around it, and the live map will show you who's already claimed what nearby.

Getting back

/back returns you to where you were before your last teleport, and to where you died after a death. That second one is how you get to your grave without remembering coordinates. It costs 100 Crowns and has a one-minute cooldown.

/spawn takes you back to the spawn town, where nothing can hurt you and PvP is off.

Towns can also unlock their own spawn point, which members reach from the town menu. That takes a fairly deep upgrade, so a young town won't have one.
