The reworked dragon, the Empress of Light with her attacks and drops, and the Altar of the Sacred.
Tougher and longer than vanilla's. The fight ends with the dragon landing on the portal so you can finish it up close.
Killing it is where Stellarity starts: it unlocks the Altar of the Accursed, and the first death leaves the Dragonblade stuck in the altar for whoever pulls it free.
Throw one Starlight Soot onto the Altar of the Sacred and she appears, with a message in chat for everyone to see. Where you stand picks the variant:

Damage is in hearts. The Daytime variant hits harder. Both variants dash more often in phase 2.

Between attacks she teleports around you to dodge.
Percent chance per kill.
Found at the centre of the Chapel of Light in The Hallow. A diamond pickaxe lifts it so you can place it elsewhere.
Throw beacon materials on it for a temporary effect. More items in one throw means a much longer effect: the time grows faster than the number of items. Times are minutes and seconds (or hours).
The same altar summons the Empress (Starlight Soot) and the Shulking, a post-dragon boss with 500 health by default.
