Banking & Trading

What /bank does, what it costs, and why your money isn't in your pocket.

Your Crowns don't sit in your inventory. They sit in an bank account, and /bank is how you reach it. You start with 200 the first time you join.

The command also answers to /money, /cash, /balance and /bal. They all really open the same thing.

The menu

Which is very basic:

  • Banking for deposits, withdrawals, transfers and your history.
  • Business & Property for the business directory and, if you run one, its balance, staff and payroll.
  • Community for shared accounts.
  • Settings for your sound preferences (and future settings).

Everything is left-click to do the thing, right-click for the occasional second option. No shift-clicking or drop-key tricks anywhere, because Bedrock players can't do those and we'd rather have one menu than two.

Bank notes

Withdrawing doesn't hand you coins. It hands you a bank note: a piece of paper stamped with an amount.

Notes survive death. If you die holding 40,000 Crowns of paper, it's still there when you get back to your stuff, which makes them a reasonable way to carry money into somewhere dangerous.

They're also just items, so anyone holding one can bank it. Treat a note like cash, not like a cheque with your name on it.

What it costs

Almost nothing, and that's on purpose.

  • Sending money to another player is free. No fee, no minimum, no cut.
  • Withdrawing under 1,000 is free.
  • Withdrawing 1,000 or more costs 1% of the whole amount, charged on top. Pull out 1,000 and you pay 1,010. Pull out 999 twice and you pay nothing, which is a real gap and we know it.

That fee is destroyed. It doesn't go to staff, a server account or a treasury, it just leaves the game. Every Crown in circulation came in through Jobs, so something has to take money back out or the numbers only ever go up.

Anything at 5,000 or more asks you to confirm before it goes through. You'll also get a warning when your balance drops under 100, and a heads-up when money over 10,000 moves either way.

While an attack is live, /bank (and its shortcuts like /money and /bal), /pay and /trade are blocked, including /bank transfer, so nobody can move money out of a fight. See War & Forts.

History

Your last 225 transactions are kept, with what moved, when, and who was on the other end. Disputes get a lot shorter when both sides can read the same log. "I never got that 50,000" has a much shorter shelf life around here.

Shared accounts

A shared account is one balance that several people can pay into and draw from, up to 10 members. Owner, admin and member are the three roles, and they're the difference between someone who can dissolve the account and someone who can only top it up.

Useful for a town project fund, a shop co-op, or two friends saving for something neither can afford alone. Less useful if you don't trust the people in it, because a member withdrawing money is a member using the account as designed, not stealing.

Business accounts

A business account is a second balance, separate from your personal one, plus a listing in the Business Directory that every player can browse.

You don't apply for one in game. Registration happens in Discord, in the business registry channel, and staff review it before it goes live. Run /link first so we know which Minecraft account the business belongs to. Names run 3 to 32 characters.

What you get:

  • A directory listing, so people can find you without already knowing you exist.
  • Payroll, so you can put other players on a wage instead of paying them by hand.

What it costs, and this part matters:

  • While your business account is the active one, sending money to another player costs 10% sales tax on top. Your personal account sends for free.
  • Your chest shops switch from the server's 5% shop tax to your business's own rate, which starts at 10% and is set per business rather than by you.

So a business is not a straight upgrade. It's a directory listing and a payroll system, paid for with a worse tax rate. Get one if you want the staff or the shopfront. Don't get one because it sounds better than a personal account.

Payroll

Once a business is live you can put players on it. Default wage is 50 a payment, the default interval is 7 days, and wages can run from 1 to 100,000. Payments run automatically, checked every hour.

5% is deducted from each wage as payroll tax, so an employee on a 50 wage banks 47.50. The tax comes out of the payment, not out of your business balance on top.

Employees don't need to do anything. Being on the payroll is the whole job, as far as the plugin is concerned. Whatever they actually do for you is between you and them. Note that the server rules require businesses to register their staff, so don't treat payroll as the only paperwork.

Trading face to face

/trade <player> opens a window both of you can see at once, with sixteen slots each and a money slot per side.

They accept with /trade accept or turn it down with /trade deny. From there:

  • Drop in items, set a money offer, and hit ready.
  • Touching anything after you've readied up un-readies you, so nobody can swap a diamond block for a dirt block at the last second.
  • Once you're both ready there's a three-second countdown, then it goes through.
  • Balances are re-checked in that last moment. If someone spent their offer elsewhere while the clock ran, the trade cancels instead of half-completing.

Money offers are capped at 5,000 per side. /trade history shows what you've traded before.

Both players have to be online, and staff can ban an individual account from trading if it's being used for something it shouldn't be.

No upstream to point you at

Everything on this page is our own plugin, written in house. There's no external wiki, no public docs, and no guide from another server whose commands will match. If something here is wrong, the Discord is the place to say so.

Money Where Crowns come from, every way to earn them, and where they drain out.

Shops & Auctions Selling to whoever walks past, or to the whole server.
